Forest Dept team rescues  deer in Palamu

A forest team of Harihurganj under the Chhaterpur West range of the Medininagar forest division on Wednesday rescued a 2.5 years old male spotted deer at Tarwan Khurd village.

The deer was entrapped in a mesh of wires around a farmer’s maize plot of land.

The deer has minor abrasion wound in one of the legs.

DFO Medininagar forest division Satyam Kumar said the team rescued the deer and got it treated as well.

The farmer has raised the iron mesh to ward off Nilgai invasion of the standing crop.

Here incidentally a deer got itself in mesh of wires.

Sources said wildlife is appearing at regular interval in the different ranges of the Medininagar forest division.

Sources said as this forest division has contained and curbed illegal mining to a great extent, the appearance of wildlife is more frequent.
