Jharkhand Heralds a New Industrial Revolution with ₹99,000 Crore Investment: Keshav Mahato Kamlesh
Ranchi: Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee President Keshav Mahato Kamlesh has described the recently concluded National Stakeholders Consultation–2026 in New Delhi as a historic milestone for the state’s industrial and economic future. He emphasized that under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Jharkhand is no longer defined solely by its mineral wealth but is emerging as a national hub for investment, innovation, artificial intelligence, digital governance, tourism, green energy, nuclear power, steel production, education, and skill development.
During the two-day consultation, the state government signed 14 significant MoUs with leading industrial houses and global institutions, securing investment proposals worth over ₹99,000 crore. These commitments, Kamlesh noted, will expand industries, introduce advanced technologies, and generate large-scale direct and indirect employment opportunities across Jharkhand.
A major highlight was the Jindal Group’s proposal of ₹71,000 crore in steel, nuclear energy, and renewable power projects. This investment, he said, reflects growing confidence among India’s largest industrial houses in Jharkhand’s potential. Other proposals included expansion in tourism, hospitality, industrial parks, IT infrastructure, and digital services, with Varun Beverages and several global players expressing keen interest. A landmark agreement with Google will accelerate AI adoption, cloud technology, and data center modernization, transforming education, healthcare, traffic management, and governance.
Kamlesh underscored the government’s commitment to social justice and local participation, highlighting Chief Minister Soren’s proposal to review industrial reservation for tribal groups from 25% to 50%. He stressed that true industrial development must ensure direct involvement of tribal, indigenous, youth, farmers, and local communities.
He further emphasized that Jharkhand’s development model balances economic growth with environmental protection, advancing scientific mining and responsible resource use while safeguarding water, forests, and land.
Kamlesh concluded that Jharkhand’s identity is shifting from a mineral-rich state to a modern innovation hub, with nearly one lakh crore rupees in investment marking the dawn of a new era. The Congress Party, he affirmed, stands firmly with the government in this journey of inclusive industrial growth, employment generation, and technological transformation.
