Pakur Cricketer Priyanshu Kumar selected for Jharkhand U-19 State Camp

Promising young cricketer Priyanshu Kumar from Pakur has been selected for the Jharkhand Under-19 State Cricket Team’s training camp, bringing pride to the district and highlighting the growing success of its grassroots sports development initiatives.
Priyanshu is a trainee at the cricket coaching centre jointly run by the Pakur district administration and BGR Mining & Infra Ltd. He had earlier represented the Jharkhand Under-16 team in the BCCI Vijay Merchant Trophy, further underlining his potential as one of the state’s emerging cricket talents.
The state-level training camp will be held in Ranchi from July 5 to July 18, where shortlisted players will undergo intensive coaching. Based on their performance in the camp, selected cricketers will go on to represent Jharkhand in various domestic tournaments.
Congratulating the young cricketer, Deputy Commissioner Megha Bhardwaj presented Priyanshu with a cricket kit at her residential office on Friday. She wished him success and said that discipline, dedication and consistent practice are the keys to achieving excellence in sports. Expressing confidence in his abilities, she said Priyanshu would make both Pakur and Jharkhand proud with his performances at the state level.
On the occasion, cricket coach Ranbir Singh Ranu was also felicitated with a shawl in recognition of his commitment to nurturing young talent and helping players progress to higher levels of the game. The Deputy Commissioner appreciated his efforts and encouraged him to continue mentoring aspiring cricketers in the coming seasons.
The District Sports Officer also extended his best wishes to Priyanshu, urging him to approach the training camp with confidence, discipline and determination, and to make the most of the opportunity to earn a place in the Jharkhand state team.
