Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West launches year-long Road Safety Campaign

Jamshedpur: Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West, in collaboration with Rotaract Club of Jamshedpur Sevarth and Rotaract Club of Karim City, inaugurated its year-long road safety campaign _”Surakshit Yatatyaat Abhiyanam (Safe Road Campaign)”_ with a Road Safety Seminar held at the Karim City College Auditorium.
The program was inaugurated in the august presence of Chief Guest Neeraj, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Traffic, and Guest of Honour Dr. Md. Riaz, Principal, Karim City College.
In her welcome address, Club President Gurpreet Bhatia highlighted Rotary’s commitment to raising public awareness on road safety, education, community participation, and developing a culture of safe traffic through various year-long activities.
Chief Guest Shree Neeraj , DSP Traffic captivated the youth and guests present in the auditorium with his remarkable style. His address not only explained traffic issues in detail but also effectively motivated everyone to follow traffic rules.
During the seminar, an impactful street play on traffic awareness was presented. Ramanuj Ojha, Senior Manager – Safety & Sustainability from Tata Motors, shared information on various aspects of road safety. A team of experts from Tata Main Hospital (TMH) — Dr. Shishir Kumar, Dr. Bhanu Swain, and Dr. Sharad — gave a practical demonstration of first aid to be administered during the “Golden Hour” after an accident.
The program saw enthusiastic participation from Rotarians, Rotaractors, Interactors, students, and citizens. Participation certificates were awarded to all registered participants.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Past President- Neeta Agrawal. She expressed gratitude to all the guests, partner organizations, speakers, volunteers, and participants for making the program a success.
The objective of this campaign is to create widespread public awareness about road safety and to promote responsible traffic behavior. Under the guidance of the local administration and Traffic DSP Shree Neeraj ,Rotary Club Jamshedpur West, along with Rotarians, Rotaractors, and Interactors, will organize the Surakshit Yatatyaat Abhiyanam throughout the year.
