In a shocking incident, the body of an 18-year-old girl was recovered on Tuesday morning from the banks of the Kanchi River under the Dasham Falls police station area in Bundu, Ranchi district. The deceased has been identified as Hissi Kumari, a resident of Baligara Tola, who had been missing for the past week.

According to reports, local villagers spotted dogs digging and feeding on a partially buried body in the sand along the riverbank. Alarmed by the sight, they immediately alerted others, and a crowd soon gathered at the spot before informing the police.

Acting on the information, a team comprising the Bundu DSP, officials from the women’s police station, Bundu Inspector, Circle Officer, Dasham Falls police, and a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) unit rushed to the scene and initiated an investigation.

The police recovered the body from the sand and sent it for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death. Officials stated that all possible angles are being probed, including foul play, given the circumstances in which the body was found.

The incident has triggered concern among local residents, while the police have assured that the case will be thoroughly investigated and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.
