A high-level review of major railway infrastructure projects in Deoghar district has resulted in a renewed push to expedite construction, strengthen inter-departmental coordination and remove land-related bottlenecks to ensure timely completion of key connectivity projects.
During the meeting held at the Collectorate Auditorium on Friday, officials led by Deputy Commissioner Saurabh Kumar Bhuvania reviewed the progress of several strategically important railway projects, including the Mohanpur-Hansdiha new broad gauge rail line, the Basukinath-Chitra new rail line, the Jasidih Bypass Rail Line and the Madhupur Bypass Rail Line.
The progress of more than half a dozen Road Over Bridge (ROB) projects was also assessed. These included ROBs at Patharia, Sapha and Jagdishpur on NH-114A, the ROB between Shankarpur and Jasidih railway station, and the ROB between Madhupur and Joramoho stations on the Giridih-Sarath road.
The review meeting emphasized the need for closer coordination between district authorities and railway officials to accelerate execution of the projects. Officials were directed to ensure that construction activities adhere to prescribed timelines and that delays are addressed through coordinated action.
A major outcome of the meeting was the decision to prioritise the resolution of land acquisition and related issues that have been slowing progress. Circle Officers and the District Land Acquisition Office were instructed to expedite pending land matters to prevent disruption to ongoing railway and bridge projects.
Officials stressed that timely completion of these railway lines and ROBs is crucial for improving regional connectivity, easing traffic congestion at railway crossings and supporting the district’s long-term infrastructure development. Representatives of the district administration, railway authorities and other concerned departments participated in the review meeting.
